City Breaks Ground at South Mall
Renovations for South Mall are officially underway, beginning with the parking lot—an important step in our Downtown Revitalization! 🚧
Mayor Jim Steiner, Vice Mayor Jacque Casillas, and Council Members Tom Richins, Tony Daddario, and Wes Speake joined us to celebrate this significant milestone 🎉
This center will soon welcome new restaurants, bringing more dining options your way, plus we’re in the planning stages of potential amenities like a skating rink! Get ready to welcome The Wine Down and Circle City Tavern!

Fall Facade Improvements

Downtown Revitalization Community Meeting
The City hosted a Downtown Revitalization Meeting at the Corona Public Library, updating the community on exciting projects happening in Downtown Corona. More than 120 business owners and residents attended the meeting. City staff from the City Manager’s Office, Community Services, Economic Development, and Public Works presented on various projects including the Sixth Street Road Diet and City Park Revitalization.
Following the presentation, staff answered questions and provided additional information at booths throughout the room.

Victoria Park Splash Pad
The Victoria Park splash pad design has been completed! All construction documents are ready, and the Community Services Department will be issuing a bid for construction with anticipated construction starting in late Summer to Early Fall.


City Park Final Design Approval
City Park Master Plan is moving along at a very steady and consistent pace, the project renderings were presented by RIOS and reviewed and approved at both Parks Commission and City Council Study Session. The final design was approved by City Council and the RIOS team is working on preparing all needed construction documents to prepare the bidding process. Construction is anticipated to begin in Spring of 25.



Downtown Revitalization Plan Update
On March 6th, City Staff presented a Downtown Revitalization Plan Update sharing major initiatives along Grand Blvd. & 6th Street to breathe new life into the heart of Corona, our Downtown.

City Park Outreach: Pop-Up Event
Concept Renderings were on display at the Circle City Center for public viewing the week of February 19, 2024. As a result of all community outreach methods beginning October 2022, over 2,100 survey responses were collected. 150 responses within 1 mile of City Park, 325 within 1-2 miles, and 555 within 2-3 miles showing a wide and even distribution of respondents.




South Mall Construction Continues
Corona Mall developer, LAB Holding, kicked off construction at the South Mall in August 2022. LAB is in the construction phase of the former Showcase Theater, and surrounding tenant spaces located at the South Mall. Construction will continue over the next few months on the shell of the buildings. Leases have been secured for exciting new tenants, such as a brewery, café, entertainment venue, and new eateries with outdoor dining! The South Mall is on track for completion in 2024. We look forward to the continued progress and bringing new life to the Corona Mall!

Performing Arts Feasibility Study
A Professional Services Agreement was awarded to Steinburg Hart. The Performing Arts Center Feasibility explores the feasibility of developing an additional perming arts venue within the City of Corona and/or renovating the Historic Civic Center Theater to become the City’s premier performing and visual arts center.
